Loving the whole built in book shelves on top of the bed. Books within reach the comfort of the bed is always a good thing.. Sort of caught on the whole zen/contemporary colour coding for the bed. Loves the woodsy/antique sidetable… Cant comment much about this picture though.. The cemented wall.. brings about a abstract smooth look which is a great thing but somehow the interior does not blend in so well.. having said that, it still looks great as a whole.
Ok now, this is an amazing looking loft. Not very into the living area though. The sofa is pretty simple looking. It does not bring about a kind of feel that when you look at it, you feel like sinking in to it. This sofa has a short back support thus not making it very comfortable for movie nights.
The kitchen looks simple and yet elegant though there isnt much that can be seen. The vent above the loft has that rustic, manhattan loft like appearance. Black metal bars (the support beams) are pretty ok but still dont quite get the feel. Probably because the furnitures arent well coordinate, colour wise. But the metal stairs do compliment it though.
Loving the short stairs towards 1/2 flr which kinda brings a whole new look to the loft. Its not something that one would usually see. Though i am very keen and interested to see the size of the rooms as the size of the living room is very generous..
Another fantastic design reblogged from designismuse.. This loft like design is what every single person should have.
Lets start from ground flr; Contemporary seems to be my calling when it comes to interiors. This loft not only reeks of it but only to a moderate extent as the concept of minimalist is blended in together. Not quite my thing though. I love my stuffs. books, electronics, clothes, dvds.. you name it. But a seethrough fireplace is def a good idea. Cant really see much to the dining room but loving the whole picture. A 7/10.
Im loving the 1st flr shelves. Im an idiot for book shelves and probably because of that i am reblogging this picture but not giving much substantial critics..
Now this is impressive.. and freaky if this isnt my house but if it is, woowee.. Like seriously. The use bookshelves as doors (or a secret door leading to a secret passage) is so sherlock holmes or dan brown. I am totally ecstatic with the idea of making my home this interesting. Really.. This is definitely going to the top of my list.
Now rationalizing it. Having to put wheels on the shelves to allow motion, may cause some scratching of the floor, thus the floor may require polishing everynow and again. Carpet floors cant be used as it may cause an obvious roller mark or causing the wools to come off. If someone were to knock on the shelves during mid rotation, books will come flying off the shelves and lots of rearranging has to be done.
Nevertheless, I WANT these shelves in my home.. so so much…
Loves how the shelves are placed and takes up the entire section of the wall. The victorian style wall are further enhanced by the black planks/glass shelves to bring out its eccentricity. But the main reason that ive chosen this picture is the concept of having a comfortable reading area separated from the other parts of the house.
A classic look with the hotelier theme to it. With the reflective surfaces of the cupboards, it gives the room a feel of larger space BUT finger stains and dust collecting on the surface is an issue to reconsider. Not quite agreeing with the choice of rug as well though. Loving how the shelves are arranged with an abstract touch, non-symmetrical. The lights, very studio like. Loving it. But the yellow in the midst of the black? Questionable. Love the choice of sofa nevertheless; as it brings about a ‘lay down on me’ aura.
Loving the kitchen. It has a natural outdoor feel and the shelves with its decorative display. Disagreeing with the orange coloured ‘plastic chandelier’ and orange cushioned chair. My OCD is kicking in cause the unstraightened plates are giving me the jitters. But i do love the horizontal short window which looks out to the garden/forest… Very contemporary.
I love how the shelves sort of like a frame for the door. It brings about a cosy feel to it. It might be just me; cause ive always associate books with being homey and my retreat from reality…
Have to agree that this is a very warm contemporary kitchen. Having said that i think i would prefer to have the bench top to be of a darker colour shade. not quite a white person. Loves how the entire kitchen is played out. The glass shelves above the prepping area may not be a look i would like either. Though emitting the sense of class, it is very much looking a tad not quite in sync with the general theme of the kitchen. The black fridge; totally a odd choice! I understand that the interior tried to blend it in with the colour theme but since the microwave and oven is silver anyway, a silver fridge would have been perfect.
I realized that bookshelves are definitely a must for my home. An area for entertainment but with walls of books surrounding it is another good idea. It sorta brings the coziness and intellect to the area. With my humble collections of medical books, recipe books, interior books, novels, comics and magazines; I NEED a massive book shelf.
An amazing exterior. A photo of a house on hollywood hills. Ive always had a soft spot for contemporary exteriors. Far modern looking and appealing than a rustic victorian mansion
A good study corner. With books stacked above the study desk. But the drawers are a tad rigid. And i am so sure that ill be having so many stationaries that id need more drawers. And cds above the tele doesnt seem so appealing as it will be hard to pick one and not mess up the rest. But loving the wooden/forest like panels. About the tele on the side? To reconsider the arrangements.
